Novice
I
A 7-week course for graduates of our Family Dog class or another
basic obedience course.
This course strengthens student’s existing
obedience skills and prepares dogs and their handlers for Obedience
Competition. The class covers footwork, off-lead heeling, stays,
fronts, and finishes.
Novice II
A 7-week course for graduates of our Novice I obedience course.
This course introduces jumps, hold, directed retrieve,
and prepares you to step into the novice level ring.
Open Exercises
A 7-week course for handlers/dogs who have
completed novice work.
This course focuses on heeling off lead, dropping
on recall, retrieving, and jumping. Coursework prepares students
to compete in Open.
Utility Exercises
I
A 7-week course for handlers/dogs who have
completed the Open class.
This course focuses on preparing students for Utility.
Sessions cover hand signals, scent discrimination, directed retrieve,
moving stand for exam, and directed jumping.
Utility Exercises II
A 6-week course for handlers/dogs who have
completed Utility Exercises I.
Continues work on signals, scent discrimination,
retrieving, directionals, and go-outs.
Obedience Drill
On-going classes for dogs of all ages.
Keep your dog sharp for the obedience ring. Sessions
are geared toward the needs of participants.
Attention
A 6-week course for handlers/dogs who are going to compete in
obedience. Dogs must have completed a Family Dog class.
This course will teach your dog stationary attention,
attention in front, and moving attention.
Reining I
A 4-week course for handlers/dogs to teach your dog to walk with
its rear and drive forward. Dogs must have completed an attention
class.
This course will teach your dog to move with its
rear for left turns, about turns, pivots and inside circles. Dogs
will also learn to move with forward drive for right turns, abouts,
and outside circles.
Reining II
A 4-week course for handlers/dogs to teach your dog to front.
Dogs must have completed Reining II.
This course will teach your dog to find front, to
come in close for those wide heelers, and to move sideways.
