A 7-week class for dogs over 6 months of age. Classes cover basic obedience and good manners, including walking nicely on a loose leash, waiting at doors or gates, not jumping on people, coming when called, going to bed when asked, dropping or leaving objects when asked, waiting in place when asked, as well as sit, stay, and down. For owners and their dogs who completed one of our Puppy Preschool classes, Family Dog builds on the basic skills you have already attained and adds new ones. Problem solving, general health, nutrition, and grooming are also addressed. Classes limited to 12 participants. Dogs must be current on their rabies, and distemper/parvo vaccinations. We participate in the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen program , which is a training certificate program for you and your dog. This class is a pre-requisite for our agility or Canine Good Citizen classes.
